“you must learn to love yourself as you are. In this self love, there rises a sun in your heart.
This is the dawning of your inner wisdom, intuition… the true knowledge.”

About Sara
Born in the mountains outside of Boulder, Colorado, Sara was raised with an intimate connection to the natural world, and an endless curiosity of its wild Mystery. She became fascinated with the way Nature unfurled Herself, constantly growing and changing and regenerating. When she began working with infants as a nanny, she found these cycles of growth and regeneration alive in the families she supported, especially in the magical process of pregnancy, birth and postpartum that she had seen so many mothers through in her work.
After 15 years of nannying, along with a bachelors degree in Spanish, a growing career as a musician, many travels around the world, and a few of life’s inevitable curveballs, she found herself back home in Boulder and in a training to be a birth Doula. She remembers this as a pivotal initiatory moment in her life.
After her doula training, Sara moved to Albuquerque, NM to study Ayurvedic medicine, where she was auspiciously introduced to her first birth client, who was a fellow student in her program.
While simultaneously steeped in her Eastern medical studies, Sara experientially learned how to care for a pregnancy, birth and postpartum period through the lens of Ayurveda.
After continuing her clinical studies in India, and acquiring her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound) she returned home and completed a 200-hour certification course in Ayurvedic Postpartum care with the Sacred Window Studies program.
She now offers her hands, heart and years of experience to families in their Sacred Postpartum Window, as well as seeing regular clients for Ayurvedic Counseling, and offering her Medicine Music in ceremonies and private sessions. Why Rasa Sāra?
Rasa can be seen as the great healer of the body, as the lymphatic system is functionally interdependent with the body’s immune function. Rasa can also take shape as the inner “Mother;” as it is the first of the seven layers of tissue to receive the nutrients from our food, transform it, and pass on to the next layer. It is She who nourishes herself first, then all others. It is She who reminds us to care for ourselves and holds the highest faith in our personal healing at all times.
When Sara was diagnosed with Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system) at age 24, she answered the calling from Rasa to learn to heal herself, to honor her true essence, and to learn the art of mothering herself with the utmost gentleness and care. She realized,
perhaps that which creates the most hardship in life also holds the key to unlocking our greatest gifts, our highest purpose and the boundless happiness we seek.
After clearing her body of cancer, Sara has come to respect Rasa as one of her greatest teachers, guiding her to true health and balance.
It is because of all that she has gained through her personal healing journey that she feels the competence to successfully serve and nourish those that come to her for support on their own paths to health, especially those mothers that are embarking on the great healing journey that is the postpartum period, and those that seek medicine through song, which is the greatest healing discovery Sara made in her journey to health. RASA /ˈ räsə / [ ruhs-uh ] is the sap that runs through the vessels of our beings (literally it is lymph or plasma), but its meaning has much more depth as well. Rasa carries the essence of life—the melodious song of nectar coursing through our body’s rivers, bringing life and nutriment to each layer of our being. Rasa is the waters of our body, the nourisher and Mother within us all. Without it, our human experience would be dry and lifeless, void of flavor, taste, nourishment and emotional depth.
SĀRA / ˈsɑr ə / [ sahr-uh ] is to be of the finest quality, to be the perfect embodiment of.
When these mother waters of the body (RASA) are at their cleanest and purest state (SĀRA), that purity cascades down through every tissue and layer of the body, creating the highest level of health at every level of our being.
RASA SĀRA is the foundation of radiant health, balance and well being—
your true nature.
